Shop Review: mmfashions.com

I recently purchased a pair of used leather trousers form a shop in the UK called mmfashions.
They specialize in used vintage and designer clothing on ebay and recently started their own website.

Apparently they're still sorting out some technical problems with the synchronization of the two sites and that's where my troubles started. They had 2 different prices (3 if you count a 'special offer' period on ebay) and 2 different shipping fees. All very confusing...
I bought the trousers from their website, since the overall price was cheaper than on ebay. I then got an email from ebay saying that my offer got accepted, which was about 15Pounds cheaper than I payed.

When I confronted the seller, he apologized for the confusion and assured me that I would get a refund of the difference.

But after 2 weeks and 3 unanswered emails, I'm still waiting...

Now, I understand that sh*t happens, and 15 Pounds is not the end of the world, but ignoring customers emails is a very big NO NO in business and it pisses me off immensely. You should always go the extra mile to satisfy your customers, or you'll end up with negative feedback such as this one. And that's definitely not worth 15 Pounds.

That's a real pity, because there's nothing wrong with the trousers and the shipping was smooth and fast, although the packing could have been better.

Final Verdict:
Product: 10/10
Shipping: 8/10
Customer Service: 0/10

Would I recommend this shop? NO NO NO

Yamaha SR500 Lossa Engineering For Sale in Thailand

It's pretty amazing what I find these days on the classifieds here in Thailand. A few weeks back there were 2 unique (and expensive) SR. This time it's an SR500 build by Lossa Engineering, a custom shop in Long Beach, California.

It's for sale at 300.000Baht (about 9.800$) and comes with the green registration book.
Here is the link to the ad:

It would be great to know more about the story behind this bike, so...if you own it, please share! ;-)

Saladin, A Little Gem in Chachoengsao

So, I went for a little spin around town, exploring unexplored rice field roads, when on the way back I decided to stop at a shop that caught my biker eye. A pretty special shop as it turned out.
Not only was it exquisitely decorated with vintage stuff, but there were old Harleys in every corner. Real eye candies!
The shop is called Saladin and if you're around Chachoengsao (it's next to BigC 1), you shouldn't miss paying a visit. "Es", the mechanic is a very nice guy and speaks decent English......and the coffee was only 10 Baht...that's 0.3$!

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride -Thailand-

As perhaps some of you are aware, today was a historical day...well, for bikers at least.
Today saw the largest collection of gentlemen (and women) on vintage, classic, retro, cafe racers, bobbers, trackers, scramblers...you know the type...in the world!
What started out as an idea by the Australian "Sydney Cafe Racers", soon gained momentum and spread around the world like fire in the outback. Basically, the idea was to dress up like a distinguished gentleman, gather with other gentlemen and just go for a ride together.
Brilliant, I thought.

Go to the official website or Facebook Page

While groups popped up all over the globe like mushrooms, I tried to do my part and beat the drum on the local forums. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be many distinguished bikers around, or the ones that were, were too busy being busy, in a distinguished way.

So, not being prone on giving up easily, I decided that I had enough distinguishedness (!) for the whole country and proudly (or some might say foolishly) went for a distinguished ride on my dignified own.

While in America the last groups enjoy their day out riding in formal attire, the world's first distinguished ride can be called a smashing success....apart from Thailand, that is.
Nevermind, the ride and I, will be back next year, bigger and (yes, I'm going to use that word again) more distinguished than ever!

If nothing else, now I've got some pretty cool pics! :-))

Vintage Bike Thailand Party 2012

If you live in Thailand and love vintage & classic bikes, there's a party you definitely shouldn't miss.

Set in the beautiful province of Kantchanaburi, near the monolithic Srinakarind Dam, this will be Thailand's biggest vintage bike show.
It's on Saturday the 15th of December, so take out your calendar, write it on your smartphone, do whatever it takes to remember this date.

BE THERE or be an amorphous jelly blob!

And here is a map to help you find the place:

And this is the official website, if you can read Thai, that is....

Alpinestars Tech Aero Tank Bag

Yeiii...I just got my new tank bag delivered!

It's an Alpinestars Tech Aero tank bag and from the first moment I opened the package I was impressed by its quality and functionality. On top of that, it was a real steal for 56$ shipping included. Yes, 56US$!!!!
If you have a look around the net, you'll soon find out that these bags retail for up to 189$, shipping NOT included. Madness!

I got it online from a seller in Thailand (www.witsai4.com), who was very helpful and could speak English well. Unfortunately (for you), mine was the last Alpinestars tank bag he had in stock and I don't know if he'll get some more.

There's a spacious clear plastic map holder on top, 3 side pockets and a pocket for the waterproof cover.

You can detach the base and tataaaaa....there you have your little backpack! The base can be used on it's own as a map holder or for other little necessities.

The zip closures seems well made and water resistant. They open and close effortlessly.

The backpack handle can be attached to the bag with a velcro strap, so it won't fly around when you try to do the ton.

The inside is actually very spacious. 20l capacity, expandable to 30l

The only thing I'm not so sure about are the magnets. I feel like they're not very strong. This is my first tank bag, so I don't have any reference point, but to be sure it won't fly away while riding, I'll attach it to the bike with the provided straps.

All in all I'm very happy and can't wait to go on a trip! Who's coming?!?

Ducati 750 SS, Carter Tondo

My dad sent me this picture of my brother and his Ducati 750 SS "carter tondo". Those who know their old Ducatis, know that this is the version with the round gearbox, which is much rarer than the "angular" version. A truly amazing bike and I feel luck to have had the privilege to ride it a couple years back.

One Week

I just finished watching a great Canadian film, where the main character starts a road trip across Canada on an stunning 1975 Norton Commando MK3. I really enjoyed it and I highly recommend it.

IMdb synopsis: Chronicles the motorcycle trip of Ben Tyler as he rides from Toronto to Tofino, British Columbia. Ben stops at landmarks that are both iconic and idiosyncratic on his quest to find meaning in his life.
The rating is 7.1, which is pretty good.

Ben Tyler is played by actor Joshua Jackson. If you're a sci-fi lover like me, maybe you'll remember him playing Peter Bishop in FRINGE.

It might not be easy to find this film, but if you do a torrent search (let's say Isohunt for example ;-), you might get lucky!
