Project Sunmaster 14 - Wheels are on

I had a few busy days working on my project bike. I've got a few small accomplishments and a couple of big satisfactions to report.

Mounted this new kickstart lever. I had to take the linkage of the old lever and transfer it to the new one, which was very easy to do.

Next came installing a mini switch from "The Sports Custom". To do that, I had to cut out 2 holes for the switches and drill a smaller hole to hold the switch body in place. This job took quite some time and was a good reminder to always have the right tool for the right job. In this case, it was my indispensible Dremel. Thank you Dremel. I love you!

Here you can see my new aluminium oil cooler. A beautiful piece! It's made by one of my suppliers and this is the very first one I got. It will be available in the shop soon...if I can find some time between the wrenching...

Now the side stand. Easy job one would think. Not if you're a muppet like me and didn't take detailed pictures of bloody everything when disassembling. I couldn't find any picture or reference online either. Finally, after 3 hours, perseverance prevailed and I got it mounted. But what a waste of time and energy....uff

Next were the wheels. The front got on quite easily, but the back tyre was another story. Without help it would have basically been impossible to lift the back of the frame, hold it balanced and at the same time slide the axle through the hub. My only chance was to lift it with a rope, so that's what I did.

Flying like a butterfly, stinging like a bee....or something like that. It might not look professional but fact is, mounting the rear wheel became sooo much easier.

It's all in the details...

Finally, Project Sunmaster 14 is rolling!!

New arrivals at Omega Racer

I've been supporting the guys from "The Sports" from the start. Seeing how meticulously they work on their bikes and the painstakingly attention to detail they employ when crafting their custom parts, I knew I'm onto a winner. It was full sails ahead for me from then on.

I started with offering their custom seat cowl about 2 years ago. Now, I'm proud to introduce some of their new goodies, namely a very cool leather side bag that you'll find only at Omega Racer, clip on handlebars and headlight brackets for 35 and 41mm forks, mini switches and rear turning light brackets.

I can't overemphasize that when you're getting a "The Sports" part, you're getting the best money can buy. No compromises.

Just look at the pictures...they speak for themselves...

SR Thailand 3rd Meeting

Once more the biggest Yamaha SR meeting in Thailand has been a huge success with over 500 bikers and bikes attending. Young hotheads, the old and wise wrenchheads, males and females alike, have enjoyed the party at the 3rd annual "SR Thailand" meeting.

This year we saw some amazing new builds, one of which was made by our friend and custom builder Tee from "The Sports". We enjoyed excellent live music by Gorealla and feasted our eyes on stunning models, who had the courtesy of performing a sexy bike wash for the enjoyment of all involved.

The only problem I had this year was that I didn't turn up with an SR. Oh no, my SR is in a thousand little pieces, getting ready to be reborn in a brand new body: The Sunmaster 14. But that's another story.
No, this year I attended with my Kawasaki ER6n, which I cleverly parked far far away, so as not to incur in the wrath of the SR purists.

But lets stop with the banter and move on to what you've all been waiting for: PICTURES!!!
